Happy Tuesday, October 21! I wanted to take a moment to announce that for the month of November, I will be participating in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge to write a novel (or 50,000 words) in one month (https://nanowrimo.org/). Today, I completed the prep courses they recommend taking before you embark on writing, and I have included my certificate (okay, all I had to do was download this and fill in my name, but I promise I took the courses).
My daily goal will be 2-30 minute sessions a day, with the hope of writing 850 words in each session. I will tell you as a writer, I think this goal is rather lofty. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to crank out that many words in such a short amount of time, but according to the questionnaire I completed on time management, that was the goal suggested for me. Additionally, I have decided to use Katytastic’s “3 Act/9 Block/27 chapters” plotting method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe3eodLF_Uo), and I’ve already filled in all 27 “chapters” of how I think the novel will unfold. I have also started completing my character development charts and hope to have these finished in the coming days.
My working title is Hello, Sweets! I am just using it as a jumping off point. My goal is also to check back in here weekly to update you on my progress. If you decide to participate yourself, let me know and we can be writing buddies through the site!
Happy Writing!!
